In a packed Representatives Hall, opponents and supporters of the Parental Bill of Rights in Education testified on whether Senate Bill 272 would harm or help children and their parents.
CACR 4 would increase lawmakers’ pay from $200 for the two-year session to $5,000 and increase the presiding officers’ — i.e. the House Speaker and Senate President — salaries for the two years to $6,250.

CONCORD — The state’s two Congressional districts will look different after the House Special Committee on Redistricting voted down party lines Tuesday to approve the Republicans’ proposal.
There will be no more vacancies on the state’s Circuit Court if the Executive Council approves three new justices who have been nominated by the governor, which could come as early as Wednesday.
Democrats were quick to seize upon a comment by Windham Republican Rep. Bob Lynn to assert that the GOP’s sole motivation in its redistricting proposals is to gain political advantage.
Special committees in the state Senate and House on redistricting will be meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Strafford County Courthouse, but people can also watch from the comfort of their homes.
