Attorney General John M. Formella, State Police Colonel Nathan Noyes, and Northfield Police Chief John Raffaelly announce that on Saturday, August 6, 2022, the New Hampshire State Police in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies will be in Northfield and Tilton in the areas of Wethersfield Road, Shaker Road, Tilton Road, and Laconia Road, as well as the ramp areas entering Route 93 for the continued investigation into the homicides of Kassandra Sweeney, age 25, and her two sons Benjamin Sweeney, age 4, and Mason Sweeney, age 1.

    By NANCY WEST, InDepthNH.org CONCORD – Senior Assistant Attorney General Geoffrey Ward said at a news conference Friday that everyone involved in the homicides of a Northfield mother and her two sons is known to prosecutors. But Ward insisted again that no arrests or charges have been filed in connection with the three homicides, and reiterated that there is no threat to the public.

  • N.H. Revenue Surplus for 2022 Shrinks Slightly With Adjustments

    By GARRY RAYNO, InDepthNH.org CONCORD — According to figures released Friday afternoon by the Department of Administrative Services, the state ended the 2022 fiscal year with a $429.7 million revenue surplus based on preliminary accrual adjustments. The actual revenue and budget surpluses will not be determined until the state’s finances are audited and announced, usually by the end of the calendar year.
