Marland Cartoons
|
New Hampshire’s own editorial cartoonist Mike Marland produces editorial cartoons exclusively for InDepthNH.org. Marland, who was born in Littleton and raised in Lyman, says he “pretty much eats, sleeps and breathes cartoons & comics.”
Marland is best known for his editorial cartoon work for the Concord Monitor. He freelanced cartoons to them for 29 years. He also drew a weekly satirical Sunday-funny-style comic for the Monitor about two NH legislators, Birch & Finch.
In addition to his editorial cartoons, Marland also draws two political comic strips, The BEACH, which focuses mainly on Trump, and UP on the HiLL, a comic about New Hampshire politics.
In addition to his editorial work, Marland draws a weekly rural humor comic strip, R.F.D. syndicated by King Features Weekly Service and is the main gag writer for the long-running King Features daily comic strip Barney Google & Snuffy Smith. See his website at marlandcartoons.com
