What People Say About Us…

“Who does New Hampshire want to have its back when the next hare-brained, get-rich-quick, cockeyed, scenery-trashing, money-grubbing scheme threatens New Hampshire’s greatest legacy---it landscape? Well, I’ll want the reporters and editors at InDepthNH.org---the only news medium that staffed the critical Northern Pass hearings, from beginning to end. InDepthNH.org---good, solid, statewide news coverage, the kind you can depend on, the way things used to be and the way they should.”
John Harrigan, writer
Colebrook

"We desperately need investigative news organizations like InDepthNH to counter the fake Facebook postings and toxic partisan diatribe masquerading as the truth. I’m immensely grateful to InDepthNH for the invaluable work they do."
Gloria Norris
Filmmaker, author of KooKooland

“New Hampshire owes a debt of gratitude to IndepthNH.org for its investigative journalism covering government accountability issues. It has been a pleasure teaming up with them to enhance government transparency and accountability in the Granite State.”
Gilles Bissonnette
ACLU-NH Legal Director

"The arrival of InDepthNH.org has been a game changer. It has filled the void of providing investigative journalism in New Hampshire. InDepthNH.org has provided ethical, quality journalism on issues that impact the lives of New Hampshire citizens daily. In addition to giving a voice and a platform to those who would otherwise be voiceless."

By KATHARINE WEBSTER, InDepthNH.org Despite warnings from members of the Senate Education Committee that federal funds to prevent youth suicide and substance abuse could be at risk, the state Senate voted in favor of a bill requiring parents to opt in before their children can be given a behavioral health survey at school. Although the Senate Education Committee had recommended killing House Bill 446, Republican committee members changed their minds and asked their colleagues to pass the bill Thursday, framing it as an issue of parental rights.

  • Driving Privileges for Undocumented Immigrants Debated

By GARRY RAYNO, InDepthNH.org CONCORD — New Hampshire would no longer recognize driver’s licenses or driver privilege cards issued to asylum seekers by other states until they obtain a green card under a bill passed by the House Thursday. The state does not issue driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants, although some other states do with Connecticut the only state in New England that does.

By GARRY RAYNO, InDepthNH.org CONCORD — The House Thursday voted to make Ivermectin available over the counter, but effectively killed a bill to streamline the application process for the child care scholarship program Thursday. The House also killed a bill that would have expanded safety and quality regulations to all health care facilities and nursing homes in the state saying it amounted to government overreach.

  • Ayotte Signs Into Law Bills That Ban Sanctuary Cities in NH

By PAULA TRACY, InDepthNH,org CONCORD - Saying she is fulfilling another campaign promise that makes New Hampshire safer, Gov. Kelly Ayotte signed bills to ban sanctuary cities and support cooperation between state and local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities Thursday. Flanked by law enforcement and Republican legislators, the passage of House Bill 511 and Senate Bill 62 was celebrated as an effort that began in 2017 and failed in the House on multiple tries, they said.

  • Senate Finance Votes To Fund the Arts With Only $1, Angering Many

By PAULA TRACY, InDepthNH.org CONCORD - New Hampshire is moving toward being the first in the nation to de-fund its public arts after the Senate Finance Committee voted Wednesday 5-3 to approve a $1 budget. The NH State Council for the Arts, which distributes grant funding to support local theater groups across the state, often in amounts of $10,000 or more, is essentially gone by the action, said state Sen. David Watters, D-Dover, who opposed the measure along with Senators Cindy Rosenwald, D-Nashua, and Dan Innis, R-Bradford.
