Dolly McPhaul: I would like to address Governor Sununu’s comments in an August 24, InDepthNH.org article. He stated people need to understand the permitting process for energy companies before making statements about Northern Pass.
Republican Gov. Chris Sununu was scheduled to head north with family Monday and Tuesday drawing criticism from Dolly McPhaul who said he has yet to fulfill his promise to come to Coos County and talk with people about Northern Pass.
It is absolutely pathetic that the Union Leader editorial staff cares so little about the state beyond the Manchester environs that they have written such a simplistic misinformed editorial such as “Northern Pass: It’s all about aesthetics.”

The project was not found to have an adverse impact on the National Historic Landmark, the Webster Farm and Daniel Webster Family Home, but was found to have an adverse visual impact on the Weeks Estate and State Park in Lancaster, but not enough to remove it from the National Register of Historic Places.
Intervenor Susan Schibanoff noted of the 170 people who petitioned to intervene in the proceedings, 153 listed their main concern as property value as did 20 towns.
CONCORD — The accuracy of real estate data used to conclude that the Northern Pass Transmission project would have little or no impact on property values was questioned by several intervenors Tuesday.
