I do see that the public liberty, the ability to speak ones conscience in public for fear of the government, is manifestly endangered, or nearly so.
Beginning in September, we resume our activities in determining the public policy of the state of New Hampshire. We begin holding public meetings on retained bills, those bills that we felt had merit, but we could not resolve in the regular session.
VIEW FROM INSIDE: Now we are done for the Session, and the work between the Sessions continues.
VIEW FROM INSIDE: Since the failure of the House of Representatives to pass HB1 (the operating budget) and HB2 (the capital budget), there has been some controversy regarding the New Hampshire House Republican Alliance (NHHRA).
This week was interesting to say the least. I arrived to the State House a little late to find the House of Representatives in the midst of a debate on investigating two representatives for their behavior.
View from Inside: At this point, all of the House Bills are in the hands of the Senate, and the House of Representatives is hearing Senate Bills.

Rep. Dan Itse: Some members started to leave after winning the motion to remove HB478 ‘Bathroom Bill’ from the Table. A number of us positioned ourselves at the exits, admonishing them not to leave, lest the motion to remove HB478 from the Table be brought up again.
VIEW FROM THE INSIDE: The Bill signing (Constitutional Carry) was one of the best attended I have ever seen. There were about 40 members of the general public and other legislators in addition to the sponsors.
VIEW FROM THE INSIDE: Politics is civilized warfare, and all of the same tactics apply. An experienced warrior never willingly leaves the field until the battle is finished.
