The Merrimack woman accused of murdering her five-year-old son, Elijah Lewis, and dumping his body in Massachusetts will soon be able to hear what her ex-boyfriend talked about in jail.
Elijah Lewis, 5, suffered close to a year of torture, beatings, and starvation at the hands of his mother, Danielle Dauphinais, and her boyfriend Joseph Stapf before his undersized body finally succumbed to one last beating, according to Assistant Attorney General Bethany Durand at Stapf’s plea and sentencing hearing Thursday.
The boyfriend of Elijah Lewis’ mother has signed a notice to plead guilty in connection with the 5-year-old Merrimack boy’s murder, according to court documents.
CONCORD – An autopsy completed on the remains of Elijah Lewis, age 5 of Merrimack, shows he was the victim of a homicide, according to a news release from Attorney General John Formella.
It is likely that it will be a few months before there is a specific determination of cause and manner of death. At this time, it is anticipated that no additional charges will be brought until these findings are complete.
On Saturday morning, law enforcement located a body in Abington, Mass., in a wooded area off Chestnut Street they believe is Elijah Lewis, 5, the missing Merrimack boy.
