Comments critical of BIPOC activists who publicly called out Rep. Nicole Klein-Knight, D-Manchester, for repeatedly using the “N” word and calling security in speaking with a young Black activist at the State House last month have heated up an already uneasy controversy.
Black, Indigenous, and people of color community leaders and organizers across the state have condemned the actions of Rep. Nicole Klein-Knight, D-Manchester, for using the “N” word repeatedly with a Black community organizer after he testified before a committee earlier this month.
Nine years old at the time, Eustaquio “TJ” Carvalho said, “I wake up to go to school and there’s a man standing in the middle of my room. I knew that something was wrong.”
After Tuesday’s deadly tragedy in Atlanta, and with just 24 hours notice, about 300 Granite Staters gathered on the Capitol Plaza in front of the State House Sunday for a peaceful solidarity rally with the American Asian and Pacific Islander community.
About 200 people gathered in Concord to “send a clear message that all the votes are counted nationally,” in the words of Asma Elhuni, Movement Politics Director for Rights and Democracy.
