Netflix Saves Us From the Writers’ Strike

Having walked my fair share of picket lines for The Newspaper Guild, which has provided me with a meager retirement fund, I understand why writers from the Writers’ Guild of America strike. The 2007-2008 strike lasted 100 days. That was a long time to wait for them to get back and gear up again to provide us with the words that, in truth, make whatever show we watch worth it or not.

The Foundry Restaurant – Hits and Misses

Let’s get this out front. The last time we ate at The Foundry was before the pandemic, and I remember the food was adequate but not exceptional. However, the food we were served on a recent night we dined was delicious. From appetizers of Caesar salad to the entrees and finally dessert. A winner on each course.

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is advising consumers not to consume a specific lot (lot number SP10723-1RGH1) of the lef Farms “Spice” Packaged Salad Greens (“best by” date 5/5/23), produced in its Loudon, New Hampshire greenhouse, as they have the potential to be contaminated with Escherichia coli O157 bacteria.

May Day Celebration Saturday in Manchester

May Day celebration will be Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Veterans Park in Manchester at 3 PM. Local organizers and activists will be celebrating the legacy of May Day and amplifying the demands of workers across the state for fair wages, healthcare, and other necessities, as well as highlighting the connections between the labor movement and all other movements for justice.
