This week I muse joyfully on mothers and all they do, all they are and all they love.
There is the daily buzz of activity but there is also the conversation, debate, agreements and disagreements that attend everyday life and local governance. Sometimes it’s enlightening, sometimes it’s more heat than light, sometimes it’s funny, and sometimes downright weird.
After considering arguments made by the New England First Amendment Coalition, a New Hampshire court last week unsealed judicial records in a case involving Nathan Carman, a Vermont resident being investigated for the murder of his wealthy grandfather and the disappearance of his mother.
So I let him continue to practice his casting. We had been out about an hour and a half when I heard “I got one.” To my surprise I see a fish dancing on top of the water.
Some will say the politics of the times was much like today and some will say we learned a lot from that era and we are taking this governmental experiment to new heights.
While the shenanigans are routine this time of year, what happened with the voucher bill or Freedom Scholarships or Senate Bill 193 last week is an example of heavy-handed politics practiced with a sledge hammer.
At this time, I ask you readers to vote for the slogan that would best serve the Granite State to attract visitors.
First, start paying back your loans. Today. Forgo those five dollar lattes, those eight dollar smoothies. Learn to make your drinks at home. Find a blender and a coffee maker at a thrift shop and invest in a reusable coffee cup.
