Opponents of Sununu’s Plan to Consolidate, Eliminate Licensing Boards Speak Out

Supporters and opponents of the governor’s proposal to eliminate, consolidate or change many licensing boards in the state spoke out at a budget hearing Monday along with those who would like to see the governor’s proposed pay raises for all state employees and a 40 percent increase in private duty nursing rates for at-home care for the developmentally disabled.

Fifteen million dollars in funding for a new nursing home for Strafford County, $750,00 for a new child care center for Concord, more electric vehicle charging stations for Lancaster and Peterborough, and water projects for a number of communities were approved by the Executive Council Wednesday along with a proposal to change its controversial procedures for voting.
