The state’s new “divisive concepts” law is being challenged in federal court, arguing it is too vague and unconstitutional.

The Senate Thursday approved moving the state primary date from the second Tuesday in September to the second Tuesday in August.
The prime sponsor of the bill, Senate Minority Leader Donna Soucy, D-Manchester, told the Senate Election Law and Municipal Affairs Committee the bill draws on what was learned from the 2020 elections.
“Over the past month, the public has received inconsistent figures from the Governor’s office regarding the remaining CARES act funds ranging from $1 million, to $30 million, and in the latest report, nearly $200 million that remains unspent,” according to a joint Democratic statement.
