All aspects of this crash remain under investigation. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this crash. Once the interstate was reopened after the DART departure, the travel lane remained closed for approximately three hours to conduct a roadside investigation.
On scene they encountered Sophia Bonfiglio (age 26), suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to Elliot Hospital where she was treated for several hours. Ultimately Ms. Bonfiglio was pronounced deceased at approximately 4:30 P.M.
