Seven bills were heard on Wednesday dealing with the increased use of All-Terrain Vehicles, including how to accommodate continued growth and environmental concerns.
Large power generating plants do not have to pay local property taxes on components that are used for air or water pollution, but one lawmaker wants to change that.
As amended, the bill would set state PFAS maximum contaminant levels at the same levels recommended by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services in 2019.
“Rather than embracing the successful policies of Republican leadership, Democrats seem content to repeatedly try to undermine New Hampshire’s economic progress by mandating a 100% wage hike for some,” said House Republican Leader Dick Hinch.
Eversource wants to increase its annual revenues in New Hampshire by almost $70 million. That amounts to a rate hike of nearly 20 percent.
The “Red Flag” bill’s prime sponsor Rep. Debra Altschiller, D-Stratham, said since the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee first held a public hearing on the bill last spring, the state’s suicide and homicide rates have grown.
What they found was not surprising: Cold, snowy winters brought more visitors and generated more economic activity than warm, slushier winters.
Sen. Watters also released legislation he has filed regarding the Transportation and Climate Initiative, LSR 2777, an act establishing a commission to evaluate the transportation climate initiative framework for a draft memorandum of understanding and associated modeling and scenarios.
