  • Court Says State Education Funding Too Low and Unconstitutional

    By GARRY RAYNO, InDepthNH.org CONCORD — Two education funding decisions released Monday were a double whammy telling lawmakers to significantly increase state funding and the state to stop manipulating the statewide education property tax to benefit wealthy communities. Rockingham Superior Court Judge David Ruoff set the base cost of an adequate education as no less than $7,356 per pupil, up from $4,100, acknowledging the figure should probably be much higher at around $9,929 per pupil, and that the final decision will be the legislature’s to make.

  • 3 Accused of Riot, Sabotage During Pro-Palestine Protest at Merrimack Plant

    By NANCY WEST, InDepthNH.org MERRIMACK – Three people were arrested Monday accused of vandalizing Israeli-based defense contractor Elbit System’s Merrimack facility at 220 Daniel Webster Highway during a pro-Palestine protest. Merrimack Police received calls from Elbit employees just before 8 a.m. saying protesters were blocking the driveway and numerous people were believed to be on the roof.

  • Candlelight Vigil To Honor Fallen Security Officer Bradley Haas and Support Staff, Patients

    CONCORD, New Hampshire – The State of New Hampshire Departments of Health and Human Services and Safety will host a candlelight vigil Monday honoring fallen Department of Safety Security Officer Bradley Haas, and in support of the staff and patients at New Hampshire Hospital. Haas, who formerly served as Chief of the Franklin, NH Police Department, was shot and killed in the line of duty at New Hampshire Hospital on November 17.
