  • DOE Launches Tool Linking High-Wage, High-Demand Jobs with Education Programming

    Mapping Bright Futures for New Hampshire CONCORD, NH (May 31, 2023) — The New Hampshire Department of Education on Wednesday launched a new dashboard that uses GIS mapping to identify locally available high-wage, high-demand occupations throughout every region of the state, as well as its Career and Technical Education programming associated with those occupations. The new dashboard, Mapping Bright Futures for New Hampshire, will enable workforce representatives to use the map to identify opportunities to strengthen alignment between CTE programs and high-wage, high-demand professions in New Hampshire.

  • Manchester Man Charged with Possession of Child Sex Abuse Images

    Manchester Police have arrested a city man after numerous child sex abuse images were allegedly located on devices he owned.Late last year, Manchester Police received an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forcecyber-tip (ICAC) related to child sex abuse images. An investigation began immediately, and during the course of several months, Detective Chris Abele of the Manchester Police Juvenile Unit was able to identify 47-year-old Daniel Civitella of Manchester.

  • Senate Finance Committee Wraps Up Work on Its Budget Proposal

    By GARRY RAYNO, InDepthNH.org CONCORD — The Senate Finance Committee gave its approval to an estimated $15 billion two-year budget plan Tuesday that members will vote on June 8. The Senate budget proposal which is expected to have a final Legislative Budget Assistant and his staff account for the Senate’s actions, is about $750,000 less than the House’s $15.76 billion plan, according to Senate President Jeb Bradley, R-Wolfeboro.
