The autopsy was conducted by Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Abigail Alexander. Dr. Alexander determined that Derek Jones’ cause of death was multiple sharp force injuries, and his manner of death was homicide.
After a sentencing hearing, the court sentenced Mr. Mohammad to 45 years to life in state prison, stand committed, on the murder count, and a consecutive sentence of two to four years on the falsification count, to be suspended for ten years upon release on the murder sentence, with a condition that he commit no new crimes.
There is no suspicion of foul play related to this case and the investigation has been closed.
The investigation was initiated after Manchester Police received a 911 call for assistance at a residence on Union Street earlier this morning. Responding officers discovered an adult male deceased inside an apartment.
Total payments are consistent with what was requested by the hospitals while also delivering approximately $60 million in savings to the State from prior proposals.
