The fourth day of hearings on the $1.6 billion, 192-mile transmission project to bring 1,090 megawatts of Hydro-Quebec electricity from Canada through New Hampshire to the New England grid saw counsel for the public spar with a Northern Pass witness over health effects from exposure to electromagnetic fields.
Shaheen will be joined by Jeff Hatch, a former NFL player who will share his story about his struggles with substance misuse, as well as New Hampshire high school and collegiate athletic directors, the program director of the NHIAA Life of an Athlete program, and the director of CADY, the Plymouth based Communities for Alcohol and Drug-free Youth.
The event will feature representatives from the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. They will be available to provide information and answer questions from interested students.
