When the Newfound Area School Board approved a school reopening plan on Aug 9, it appeared that students would be able return to classes without masks. There was little to no COVID-19 reported in any of the communities at that time.
After some heated discussion the day before, the House Education Committee Thursday found unanimity on a bill establishing school choice.

The first installment of the $46 million federal Department of Education grant, $10.1 million, was accepted on a 7-3 vote, not surprisingly down party lines.
