As the state reported 310 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, and children and their families prepare for a return to school in the next few weeks, Gov. Chris Sununu pushed the need to get everyone who can to be fully vaccinated, warning that the fall could be a tough new chapter of the pandemic when people head indoors.
It was the 111th press conference held related to the pandemic and it came 458 days after his declaring a state of emergency on March 16.
Gov. Chris Sununu announced an executive order to deal with the state’s mental health emergency room crisis in New Hampshire where patients are being housed for an indefinite period of time without evaluation and a plan for walk-in vaccination sites beginning May 17.
The State House mask mandate approved last year was lifted Friday in an 8-4 party line vote of the Joint Legislative Facilities Committee.
The test result is being shipped to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for confirmation but officials in New Hampshire are treating the illness as a presumptive first case of the Coronavirus in the state.
