U.S. DOJ Supports Democrats in Lawsuit for Remote Access to Legislature

Earlier Friday night, in a brief submitted to the U.S. First Court of Appeals, the United States Department of Justice took a strong position in favor of the plaintiffs in the case of Cushing et al v Packard, repudiating the doctrine of legislative immunity, as Speaker Sherman Packard is seeking to use it in this case to avoid the state’s responsibility to obey the law.

Sununu Signs Special Education Bill

Katie Duran of Wolfeboro was beaming and said she almost accidentally signed House Bill 581 just after Gov. Chris Sununu in celebration of a measure that places the burden of proof in special education on the system rather than the parent.
