DOC consumes massive amounts of the budget with very little transparency. In addition to correctional activities, they are also in the health care business. But they are not subject to any inspections or reviews by any outside agencies. They determine it, administer it and decide its effectiveness.

Shaheen Helps Secure $688,856 for NH Law Enforcement to Combat Opioid Epidemic

Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), the lead Democrat on the Commerce, Justice & Science Appropriations Subcommittee, announced that the Community Oriented Policing Services Office, which is managed by the Department of Justice, has awarded the New Hampshire Department of Safety, Division of State Police $688,856 through the Anti-Heroin Task Force Program to help combat the opioid epidemic.
