New Hampshire’s economy has been roaring along for the past few years, but the state may be facing a crisis years in the making that could halt the prosperity.
Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald announces that his office, in conjunction with the Merrimack County Attorney’s Office, the Concord Police Department, and the New Hampshire State Police has initiated a criminal investigation into St. Paul’s School, a coeducational residential high school in Concord, New Hampshire.
In a letter sent today, more than 30 Democratic senators, including U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, rebuked Education Secretary Betsy DeVos for scaling back civil rights enforcement at the Department of Education.
“Colebrook, Hinsdale, Greenville, Lancaster, Berlin, Northumberland, and Newport are likely to see a reduction of more than 10 percent in the aid they receive from the state between 2017 and 2022,” according to the study.

The program was designed to provide teacher training education opportunities to place-bound students in the North Country. Without leaving the North Country, students can earn a bachelor’s degree and K-8 teacher certification upon graduation from the program.
