The New York Times reported Thursday evening that Donald J. Trump was indicted in Manhattan for his role in allegedly paying hush money to a porn star.

The Times attributed the news to five people with knowledge of the matter and said it is the first time a former president faces criminal charges. The specific charges will be announced when he is arraigned, the Times said.
