“It is safe to say” Republicans have taken the state House, Senate and Executive Council majorities, Secretary of State William Gardner said late Wednesday morning.
Dan Feltes said he would be voting to help support the “bright futures” of all citizens, particularly hard-working citizens who have been left behind by Republican leaders such as Gov. Chris Sununu and President Donald Trump.
“With the dust finally settled from their bitter intra-party squabbling, New Hampshire Democrats today nominated a candidate for governor whose only claim to fame is trying — and failing — to force an income tax on Granite State families, not once, but twice. Dan Feltes has never managed anything in his life and is clearly unprepared to lead our state.”
Earlier this week, Congresswoman Annie Kuster endorsed Senator Feltes for Governor citing his commitment to women’s reproductive rights and his career fighting for working families as a legal aid attorney and in the State Senate.
Supporters say an amendment to HB 183 will preserve the state policy that was passed last year, but has yet to be enacted because of legal disagreements.
The Senate also unanimously passed SB 174. It establishes June 19th as Juneteenth, a day to reflect upon slavery’s relation to the State of New Hampshire.
On a 24-0 vote, the Senate approved increasing Medicaid provider payments for mental health and substance abuse treatment services by $3 million.
