After years of secrecy surrounding the Sununu Youth Services Center cases then called YDC, the public is going to start learning more about the nightmarish abuse that’s left more than 1,400 victims seeking justice.

The arrest warrant affidavits against several men charged with abusing children in the Sununu Youth Services Center case, formerly known as YDC in Manchester, are now public for the first time since the investigation began almost five years ago.
BRENTWOOD – New Hampshire’s Department of Health and Human Services says the state is only liable for one incident of abuse at YDC in the David Meehan lawsuit, and therefore only liable to pay $475,000, but Judge Andrew Schulman ruled this week that’s not an option.

Judge Andrew Schulman ruled Wednesday it is not appropriate to recall the jury that awarded David Meehan $38 million for the abuse he suffered while incarcerated as a teen at YDC only to find the state says it will only pay $475,000, the cap under state law.
Judge William Delker dismissed the charges on Tuesday and ruled that Frank Davis, 82, is not competent to stand trial and cannot be restored to competency, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

The jury in Rockingham Superior Court is holding the state of New Hampshire to account for the rapes, beatings, and brutality suffered by David Meehan as a child, awarding him $38 million in damages which represents the largest amount awarded in a contested civil liability trial in state history.
