The state Department of Health and Human Services announced 389 new positive test results for COVID-19 and two new deaths Friday, for a current PCR test positivity rate of 2.9%.
Gov. Chris Sununu apologized for the frustration caused by a federal website to book second appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine at his news conference on Thursday and promised to fix it with a New Hampshire solution.
Saying it is 20 to 30 percent of its normal size, Gov. Chris Sununu said Bike Week is what he had hoped for and noted that restaurants and bars have responded well to COVID-19 precautions to keep people safe.
The briefing touched on a wide range of issues from Eddie Edwards’s withdrawing his name from nomination as director of the board of licensure and certification to Hampton Beach trash to vetoing legislation that the House and Senate are still working to finalize.
“In addition to this case, we have also asked ICE to release detainees from Strafford County Department of Corrections, as public health experts have warned that failure to do so endangers the lives of everyone in the facility, including staff, and the broader community.”
As many people scrambled to restructure their lives in the new reality of restrictions during New Hampshire’s COVID-19 State of Emergency, many people were also heading to stores that sell guns and ammunition.
Citing what he called the first community transmission of the COVID-19 virus in New Hampshire, the Manchester school superintendent announced closing the city’s public schools for the next two weeks.
