    By PAULA TRACY, InDepthNH.org CONCORD - Those who engage in prostitution as a patron will pay a mandatory $500 fine under Senate Bill 267-FN and that money would go into a survivors’ fund under a bill heard Thursday before the Senate Judiciary Committee. There was no opposition to the bill and many survivors who have turned to helping others spoke in support of the bill, which is sponsored by Democrat Donovan Fenton, D-Keene.

    By GARRY RAYNO, InDepthNH.org CONCORD — The House approved a bill updating the state’s energy policy to emphasize market driven, affordable and efficient sources such as fossil fuels over renewable sources. The House also eliminated several offshore wind energy related offices from the Department of Energy in its session Thursday.

  • Ex-Sheriff Pleads Guilty to Multiple Felony Charges

    Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella announces that former Strafford County Sheriff Mark A. Brave pleaded guilty in the Merrimack County Superior Court today to multiple felony charges in connection with his conduct as a law enforcement officer and a public official, including Class B Felony Theft by Deception, Class B Felony Falsifying Physical Evidence, and two charges of Class B Felony Perjury for lying to a Grand Jury. A plea agreement agreed to by the parties outlines the following sentencing conditions: Mr. Brave will be sentenced to a prison term of 3.5 to 7 years on each of the charges of Theft by Deception and Falsifying Physical Evidence.
