Councilors Told COVID-19 May Peak in NH Late April; Total Cases Now 137

Health and Human Services Commissioner Lori Shibinette briefed the council on COVID-19 preparedness.
DHHS: “DHHS also issued guidance regarding potential community exposure of the coronavirus after DHHS determined that a person with COVID-19 was on the following Concord Coach Lines buses:”
Community-based transmission has now been identified in the majority of the counties in the state.
“Several individuals from Rockingham and Grafton counties have no identified risk factors indicating that New Hampshire is experiencing community-based transmission of COVID-19.”
Republican Gov. Chris Sununu detailed three new emergency orders including expanded unemployment benefits and relief from being evicted or foreclosed upon due to COVID-19 at a news conference on Tuesday.
This includes in-person attorney visits. The Department of Corrections will make accommodations for electronic attorney/client activity. In addition, upcoming tours and events are postponed for at least 30 days.
The conversation, which will be streamed on the Volinsky for New Hampshire Facebook page, will begin with a discussion of COVID-19’s impact on small businesses, and will then open up for a Q&A of other concerns viewers have about the COVID-19 crisis and state response.
Gov. Chris Sununu announced the activation of the Emergency Operations Center on Friday to assist in the state’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak with six individuals having tested positive so far in New Hampshire – three each in Grafton and Rockingham counties.
The House once again Thursday approved an independent redistricting commission to draw the state’s political boundaries instead of having the majority party control the process.
