DURHAM — Substance use disorder is reaching epidemic proportions across the country and in communities large and small across New England. The problem is bigger than Illicit drugs such as heroin — it includes alcohol and prescription meds found in most people’s homes.
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen: “Today’s report also shows that, thanks to the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid expansion, more Granite Staters are getting the substance misuse treatment that they need.”
The judge who oversaw landmark case involving troubled homes for the mentally ill sends word to Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Attorney General Eric Schneiderman that state’s efforts to undermine care must end.
