Newly-released data revealed that the price of child care in New Hampshire continued to rise in 2023. The national organization Child Care Aware of America (CCAoA) estimated that New Hampshire families with an infant in center-based child care faced an average annual tuition price of $17,250.
Limited access to affordable child care creates significant challenges for New Hampshire’s families and economy, and may hinder New Hampshire’s efforts to support a robust workforce.[
This expansion means, for example, that a family of three making less than about $89,200 yearly may be eligible for the NH Child Care Scholarship program, and only need to spend approximately $6,200 (7 percent) of their annual income on child care tuition.
