PITTSBURG: On Monday, at approximately 10:03 a.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified of a snowmobile rollover in Pittsburg. The operator of the snowmobile was identified as Nicole Dudley, 36 of Barrington, NH.
Dudley had failed to negotiate a sudden sharp right hand turn after gripping the brakes abruptly, which resulted in her falling off the machine. As a result of the rollover, Dudley landed on her back and slid, ultimately suffering a torso injury.
The snowmobile that she was riding rolled over one time and sustained minimal damage. At the time of the incident Dudley was riding with her husband and two other family members. Dudley’s husband was able to quickly relocate to call 911 for help as there was no cellphone service where the crash occurred.
Along with a Conservation Officer, members of the Pittsburg Police Department, Pittsburg Fire and Rescue, and 45th Parallel EMS responded.
Dudley was able to drive herself out of the trail several miles to where emergency services were
staged on Magalloway Road. From there, Dudley was transferred to an ambulance and taken to
Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital (UCVH) in Colebrook for further evaluation of her injuries.
An investigation of the crash is still ongoing. It is likely that inattention to the trail and an improper
turn were the main contributing factors. No further details are available.
