“While summer presented its share of challenges, we saw encouraging signs in August that give us added confidence heading into fall,” said Charyl Reardon, President of White Mountains Attractions Association. “Last year, more than 1.1 million visitors came to the White Mountains during foliage season, contributing over $320 million to our state’s economy.
Fall is more than just beautiful scenery—it’s an economic driver that helps sustain our businesses and communities, supporting local jobs and fueling Meals & Rentals tax revenue that benefits all of New Hampshire. That kind of impact underscores just how vital this time of year is for our region, and we’re excited to once again welcome travelers eager to experience the White Mountains at their most spectacular.”
From mid-September through late October, visitors can expect to see fiery reds of maple, golden birch, and amber oak sweeping across the mountains creating a breathtaking backdrop for outdoor adventures and cherished traditions. Whether enjoying the panoramic summit views aboard the Mt. Washington Cog Railway or along the Mt. Washington Auto Road, wandering through natural wonders like Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves, or taking in the sights from a scenic train ride, gondola, or zipline, fall offers memorable adventures with whatever path you choose.
