Two student journalists were arrested during a Dartmouth protest on Wednesday night. They were reportedly wearing press credentials at the time. Here’s reporting from The Dartmouth; and here’s what I believe is a very insufficient response from administrators.

NEFAC sent a letter to the college’s president today asking that she, among other things, work to have the charges against these students dropped.

New Hampshire Press Association President Brendan McQuaid added this statement:

“The New Hampshire Press Association is disappointed to hear about the arrest of two student journalists on the Dartmouth campus during recent protests.

“We expect the Dartmouth administration will work quickly to help get these charges dismissed and will work to keep press freedom thriving on campus.”
