Man Charged in Stabbing Death of Elderly Man in Manchester

 Attorney General John M. Formella announces that Raymond L. Moore, age 40, has been indicted and charged with multiple offenses in connection with the stabbing death of Daniel Whitmore, age 75, in Manchester, New Hampshire, on September 2, 2022.

Mr. Moore was indicted on one count of second-degree murder for knowingly causing the death of Daniel Whitmore by stabbing him with a knife, and one alternative count of second-degree murder for recklessly causing Mr. Moore’s death under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, by stabbing him with a knife. Mr. Moore was also indicted on a separate count for knowingly having in his possession or under his control a knife, a deadly weapon, after having been previously convicted of a felony against the person or property of another. These crimes are alleged to have been committed while Mr. Moore was released on bail.

Mr. Moore continues to be held without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on these indictments in Hillsborough County Superior Court – Northern District on December 15, 2022.

The charges and allegations set forth in the indictments are merely accusations, and Mr. Moore is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
