NH Lottery and DraftKings launched mobile and online sports betting December 30; more than 16,200 users have registered in NH

Concord, NH (January 7, 2020) – Mobile and online sports betting has been met with enthusiasm in the Granite State as players have wagered more than $3.44 million since the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings, Inc. launched sports betting just over seven days ago on December 30.

More than 16,200 players have registered accounts to place sports bets in New Hampshire as of Monday, January 6.

“Early returns show that sports betting was absolutely the right bet for New Hampshire to make,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “With over $3.44 million already wagered here in the Granite State, and with revenues benefitting our state’s education system, this is already proving to be a big win. The demand is there and New Hampshire is happy to serve as the region’s go-to destination for sports betting.”

“We are extremely pleased with the initial success of mobile and online sports betting in New Hampshire. Despite the disappointment of the New England Patriots losing, it is clear our New Hampshire players are embracing the excitement of sports betting with players placing more than $3.44 million in wagers in our first week,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director, New Hampshire Lottery. “In addition to players from New Hampshire, we have already seen a significant volume of players from out of state signing up to play. We look forward to building on our success, while offering our players a completely new way to experience the thrill of winning.”

The New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings launched mobile and online sports betting December 30 at Shopper’s Pub + Eatery at Indian Head with a special event featuring Governor Chris Sununu and former NFL great Rob Ninkovich. New Hampshire residents can download the DraftKings Sportsbook app to place wagers through DraftKings, which is the exclusive digital operator in New Hampshire.

The DraftKings Sportsbook app looks the same in all states where sports betting is legal. New Hampshire state laws do not allow wagers to be placed on college teams from the state or college games taking place within state lines. Sports fans can place bets on the DraftKings Sportsbook app via iOS and Android or online at Sportsbook.DraftKings.com.
