Merrimack Exit 11 tollbooth

CONCORD—On Thursday, the New Hampshire Senate passed SB 300, 24-0, to remove the toll at Exit 11 on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Merrimack. The bill now goes to Senate Finance.

Senator Shannon Chandley (D-Amherst), prime sponsor of SB 300, released the following statement after the vote:

“For too long the people of Merrimack have borne an unfair burden of tolling on the turnpike system. While we need to ensure adequate funding for our turnpike system, an undue percentage of that should not come from the residents of one town. Today’s vote is the first step to address this inequity and provide much needed fiscal relief to Merrimack residents.”
