Susan Dromey Heeter is a writer from Dover who recently let her hair go au natural white. Writing has been her passion since her English majoring days at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Dromey Heeter has lived in The Netherlands, Alaska and currently basks in all things New England, including the frigid winters. An avid swimmer, Dromey Heeter’s great passion is to bring back body surfing as most children have no idea how to ride waves without ridiculous boogie boards.
JOYFUL MUSINGS: Lest you think me a “foodie” however, you’d be quite mistaken.
JOYFUL MUSINGS: ‘I got a call to my UMass dorm room that my dad had died. He was 55 and my world changed in an instant.’
JOYFUL MUSINGS: My spoons never line up perfectly in my kitchen drawer, my socks match occasionally and, yes, I do know where my passport is.

John Donne wrote, “Death be not proud.” Donne did not write, “Death be not fun, death be not colorful or vibrant, death be not a feast of memories.” Obviously, Donne was not Mexican.
JOYFUL MUSINGS: When I was growing up, Friday nights in Springfield’s Forest Park meant a trip to the Forest Park Public Library with my Dad. I still remember the colorful yellow stools, the books at my eye level. And I could take out as many books as I wanted – like an all you can eat buffet for the mind.
JOYFUL MUSINGS: I’m exceptionally good at sleeping – and, not to brag, but I can fall asleep anywhere, anytime, anyplace.
Joyful Musings: Instant Karma’s going to get us all, I hope.
Joyful Musings:
But Kim is bracing for New Hampshire’s winter; she has boots from Land’s End and was wearing her “winter shoes” as we spoke. I did not have the heart to tell Kim her delicate tan ballet flats may not make it through November, but I adore her optimism.
