Man Sentenced to Prison for 80 Years for Two Shooting Deaths

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella and Nashua Police Chief Kevin Rourke announce that Victor Rivera (age 49), of Nashua, New Hampshire has been sentenced for his Second-Degree Murders of Patricia Swett and Matthew Champagne on August 29, 2023.

Mr. Rivera was found guilty after a jury trial on January 14, 2025 of knowingly causing the deaths of Ms. Swett and Mr. Champagne by shooting them in a parking in downtown Nashua.

After hearing statements from Ms. Swett’s and Mr. Champagne’s families and friends, the Court sentenced Mr. Rivera to consecutive terms of 40 years to life in the New Hampshire State Prison, totaling a minimum sentence of 80 years.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorneys General Adam L. Woods and Rachel C. Harrington, with assistance from Victim Witness Specialist Amy Cerullo.
