Autopsy Results Released in Police-Involved Shooting in Plymouth

Attorney General John M. Formella announces further information regarding the officer-involved shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of Nov. 7 at 27 Route 25 in Plymouth, New Hampshire.

 Associate Chief Medical Examiner Abigail Alexander has conducted an autopsy on Kevin Steinfeldt (age 58) of Plymouth. Dr. Alexander determined that Mr. Steinfeldt’s cause of death was a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head and that the manner of his death was suicide. Dr. Alexander also determined that Mr. Steinfeldt sustained additional gunshot wounds in addition to the self-inflicted shotgun wound.

The investigation into the officer-involved shooting of Mr. Steinfeldt is ongoing, and the identity of the troopers who used deadly force will be disclosed once formal interviews of all involved in the incident occur in the coming days. Further information will be provided at that time
