Two Die in Charlestown Fire

CHARLESTOWN, N.H. – New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean P. Toomey, Fire Chief Mark LaFlam and Charlestown Police Chief Patrick Connors announce that a fire occurred at 1B Crown Point Drive, in Charlestown on June 6, 2024.  Two victims died as a result of this fire.  

A 9-1-1 call was received shortly before 7:00am, with a report of smoke from a mobile home. When Charlestown firefighters arrived and made entry, they located a deceased adult male inside. Once the fire was suppressed, a second deceased victim was found. She was an adult female. There are no other reported injuries.    

Positive identification of the victims and cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy, which will take place at the NH State Medical Examiner’s Office in Concord, NH, on June 7, 2024.

The investigation into the origin & cause of the fire is active and ongoing by members of the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Charlestown Fire and Police Departments.

State Fire Marshal Toomey would like to remind all citizens of the importance of having working smoke alarms in your home. In the event of an alarm activation or visible smoke or fire, immediately exit your home and call 9-1-1. Keep exits clear and accessible at all times and have a home fire escape plan.
