One Person Dies in Littleton Fire

Littleton, New Hampshire – New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean P. Toomey, Littleton Fire Chief Chad G. Miller and Littleton Police Chief Paul J. Smith announce that on February 3, 2024, at approximately 9:39 AM a call was received reporting smoke in a residential structure located at 12 Hilltop Manner Extension. 

Officers from the Littleton Police Department were first to arrive on scene. Officers entered the home and found one person dead. The fire self-extinguished prior to the arrival of the fire department.

The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is active and ongoing by members of the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office, Littleton Fire Department, and the Littleton Police Department.

Positive identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of their death, is pending an autopsy scheduled for February 3, 2024.

State Fire Marshal Toomey would like to remind everyone of the importance of having working smoke alarms in their homes. In the event of an alarm activation or visible smoke or fire, residents should immediately exit their home and call 9-1-1. Keep exits clear and accessible at all times and have a home fire escape plan.  Anyone with questions about home fire safety should contact their local fire department or the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office.
