One Person Died, Two Hurt in Nashua Fire

NASHUA – New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean P. Toomey, Nashua Fire Chief Steve Buxton and Nashua Police Chief Kevin Rourke announce that a fatal fire occurred at 86 Langholm Dr. in Nashua on October 5, 2023, at approximately 1:30 AM.

 When the Nashua Fire Department first arrived, they found heavy fire coming through the roof of the single-family home. There were reports that an occupant was still inside the home. The fire department made a swift entry inside and removed a victim.

The victim was transported to the hospital where they died. Two other residents of the home were also transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and they were transferred to a Boston hospital.

 One of the residents was in critical condition, while the second resident was in stable condition. The Nashua Fire Department was assisted by the Nashua Police Department and American Medical Response Ambulance. Positive identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of their death, is pending an autopsy scheduled for later this week.

The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is active and ongoing by members of the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office, Nashua Fire Department and the Nashua Police Department.

 State Fire Marshal Toomey would like to remind everyone of the importance of having working smoke alarms in their homes. In the event of an alarm activation or visible smoke or fire, residents should immediately exit their home and call 9-1-1.
