Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Executive Major Matthew S. Shapiro, and Bartlett Police Chief Christopher Keaton announce further information on an early morning shooting in Bartlett, New Hampshire that resulted in one individual being killed and a second individual hospitalized.
At approximately 1:06 AM this morning, July 5, 2023, 911 dispatched police and emergency medical services for a reported shooting at 25 Nordic Wilderness Road off of NH Route 16 in Bartlett. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, Samuel Lozado, age 23, deceased after suffering what appeared to be several gunshot wounds. In addition, 911 received a second call to assist a different adult male a mile and a half away who was also suffering from a reported gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers located this male, age 24, who was transported to a local hospital and then an out-of-state hospital for additional treatment. This second male is in stable condition and his injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
Investigators currently believe that both men knew each other, that these shootings are related to one another, and that there is no known threat to the members of the public. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM in Concord by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
