Merrimack County announces second round of ARPA subgrants

Boscawen, NH – Merrimack County is pleased to announce that the Board of Commissioners have committed to allocating an additional $700,000.00 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to be used in support of nonprofit organizations that serve the residents of Merrimack County.  This funding adds to the first round of grant awards that exceeded $1 Million and resulted in ARPA fund distributions across fourteen agencies providing services county-wide.

Grant applications are once again being solicited to meet the following needs:

  • Addressing health disparities and the social determinants of health;

Examples include:

  • Safe housing, transportation, and neighborhoods
    • Racism, discrimination, and violence
    • Education, job opportunities, and income
    • Access to nutritious foods and physical activity opportunities
    • Polluted air and water
    • Language and literacy skills
  • Investing in housing and neighborhoods;
  • Addressing educational disparities;
  • Promoting healthy childhood environments;
  • Addressing additional programming needs consistent with the mission of Merrimack County.

To be eligible to apply, organizations must be a registered 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(19). This grant application period will close on July 31, 2023.  Each project or program request has a maximum award amount of $100,000.  Agencies awarded grant funding in Round One are eligible to apply; however, total award amounts inclusive of Round One and Round Two funding will not exceed $150,000.  The grant application can be found at https://form.jotform.com/221934311194047.  Additional guidance regarding RFP20230615 is available on the Merrimack County Website.
