MANCHESTER – The deaths of a Manchester couple Tuesday morning from gunshot wounds were ruled a murder/suicide, and their 8-year-old son who survived being shot was in an adjoining bedroom when a round struck him in the torso, according to a press release from Attorney General John Formella.
“Based upon the information available at this time, it appears that in the early morning hours of October 27, 2026, Bianchinies Cruz, 36, shot Alisha Cruz, 35, and then shot and killed himself. During the course of the shooting, it appears multiple rounds traveled into an adjoining bedroom, and one of those rounds struck the eight-year-old child in the torso,” the release said.
The injured child was transported to a regional trauma center and remains in stable condition.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed autopsies on Bianchinies Cruz and Alisha Cruz Wednesday morning. Mr. Cruz’s autopsy determined that his cause of death was a single gunshot wound of the head, and his manner of death was suicide. Ms. Cruz’s autopsy determined that her cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and her manner of death was homicide.
At approximately 9:34 am on October 27, 2026, Manchester Police were called to the home at 59 Wheelock Street in Manchester, for a requested welfare check. The caller expressed concern for the three residents of the home: an adult male, adult female, and their eight-year-old child.
When officers entered the residence, they found Bianchinies Cruz and Alisha Cruz deceased inside the home, and their eight-year-old son alive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his torso.
No further information is expected to be released at this time.
