Manchester Police have arrested the driver involved in a serious crash Monday evening that left a 1-year-old child with serious injuries.
On September 7, at approximately 6 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Hanover and Belmont streets for a reported motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles.
Police located a 2003 Toyota RAV4 driven by 24-year-old Brianne Gonzalez of Manchester. Gonzalez was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. She was taken to a local hospital.
Three passengers were inside the RAV4: two Manchester women, ages 20 and 21, and a 1-year-old child. The child suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Boston Children’s Hospital for emergency treatment. The two adult passengers sustained minor injuries.
The second vehicle, a 2011 Cadillac DTS, was driven by a 49-year-old Manchester man. He was also injured and taken to a local hospital.
Through the investigation, police established probable cause to arrest Gonzalez and charge her with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Gonzalez remains hospitalized.
