3-Year-Old Suffers Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

HOOKSETT – Police say they responded to an accidental shooting report of a 3-year-old on Wednesday at about 6:30 p.m.

The shooting happened inside a vehicle parked in a driveway in Hooksett, according to a news release posted on the Hooksett police Facebook page.

“The victim was a 3-year-old child that sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to the Elliot Hospital and later med-flighted to Boston with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries,” the release said.

It said all involved parties are cooperating with police, and no further information will be released at this time. It is an open criminal investigation, but no details about who is being investigated was released
