Good August, Musers, good summer’s height, good brilliance of flowers, of sun, of summer feet and well used beach chairs. In today’s musings, I simply have questions. No answers, just questions. Feel free to reach out to answer or simply muse on your own responses. I find August a beautiful time to wonder, to practice curiosity, to simply ask…

What do you put in those cabinets above your fridge?  And I speak of those cabinets that are more difficult to reach than a live customer service person.  What do you keep there? As I type this, I think I have a fondue set in ours, a fondue set that I’ve had for decades but have never once used. I keep thinking there will be an apres ski moment when I’ll delight in using it. Until then, it’s in the no man’s land cabinet. What’s in yours?

Why does Governor Kelly Ayotte never call me back?  On her voicemail she says she will but she never does. Huh.  Is she ghosting me?  I have questions about ICE, Data Centers, Educational Funding but I never receive a note, a call back, a text. I know I can email but more often than not, I find while I drive and particularly when I’m in traffic, it’s a good time to ask questions. Do YOU know why she doesn’t respond? Doesn’t she have a staff?  I think of when I taught and a parent reached out, I responded because it was my job and my professional responsibility.  Hmmm. Does she respond to you? Do tell. And if you’re from the governor’s office, do let me know. I’ve left boatloads of voice mails and always leave my name and number.

What’s a good wedding present these days? I’m going to sound a million years old, but it does seem as though those getting married already have things like toasters and mixers.  I know I can go onto a registry but sometimes it’s fun to personalize. Or is that a thing of the past? Do YOU have a wedding gift that works for you? I suppose cash is never a bad idea. My favorite wedding gift? Friends got together and bought a painting of the square and church where my husband and I married. I’ll never donate this piece and, in fact, need to write on the back of it its significance and history.  Anyway, I digress. If you have an answer, do tell.

Why would anyone want META glasses? I see the advertisements but it just seems like another unnecessary intrusion.  Am I sounding a million years old again? Do YOU want META glasses? Why? What’s so urgent?

Have you supported InDepthNH.org? I suspect you are by reading this but in a world where news is hijacked by nonsense and baloney, have you contributed a buck or two to this platform? If not, why? No time like the present.

Finally, as many go back to school and lunch boxes are omnipresent, what was your favorite lunch? Mine? Just writing “baloney” above made my mouth water. I can think of no better dining experience than baloney with mustard (yellow, of course) on Wonderbread.  It’s a spectacular sandwich, one of which I think could possibly be my meal should I end up on death row. What’s your lunch of joy? Do tell.

So, Joyful Musers, August on and question everything. And do respond if you have any or all answers to my queries. Be well, ask your own questions and if Kelly Ayotte responds to your calls, tell her I’m waiting.
