OSSIPEE- – William Kelly, 40, was sentenced Monday in the Carroll County Superior Court for the murder of his girlfriend, Christine Falzone, 33, and the murder of Ms. Falzone’s unborn child in Ossipee on Dec. 17, 2023.
Kelly was found guilty in July during his second trial after the first one ended in a mistrial.
Kelly was sentenced to 40 years to life on the Second Degree Murder conviction relating to the death of Christine Falzone. He was sentenced to 40 years to life on the Second Degree Murder conviction relating to Ms. Falzone’s unborn child. These sentences will be served consecutively, resulting in an aggregate term of imprisonment of 80 years to life.
The evidence presented at trial established that Kelly assaulted Falzone inside the couple’s residence in Ossipee, causing injuries that resulted in the deaths of both Falzone and her nearly full-term unborn child.
After conducting an autopsy on Dec. 18, 2023, Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell Weinberg determined that Falzone was approximately 35-37 weeks pregnant at the time of her death.
According to authorities, on Dec. 17, 2023 at about 11:44 a.m., a 911 call was made for a report of a woman unconscious and not breathing at 332 Water Village Road in Ossipee.
Officers and paramedics responded to that location and encountered Christine Falzone with multiple injuries and Falzone was ultimately pronounced dead.
Responding officers also encountered Kelly at the same location and he was taken into custody.
